An Introduction to Hinesburg Vermont

Located where the Champlain Valley meets the foothills of the Green Mountains, Hinesburg has been, until recently, a farming community. Recent years has seen an increase in business diversity and growth, inspiring the creation of the Hinesburg Business and Professional Assocation. Over the last 30 years Hinesburg has increasingly become a bedroom community, with residents scattered throughout the 25,250-acre town on large lots. Hinesburg's population is currently estimated at 4,500.

The town has recently begun a Village Growth Project to ensure that  "future growth is well planned and in keeping with Hinesburg’s rural village character" and "to invigorate the existing village core by allowing for appropriate in-fill, historic preservation, redevelopment, and the efficient and innovative use of space."
