Williston has a population of about 8,000 and covers 30.4 square miles. It is a mixture of woods, open farm land and developed areas: residential, industrial and retail centers. Much of this growth is due to its close proximity to Burlington, the airport and Interstate 89. Williston Community Park, the Catamount Outdoor Family Center and the Williston Country Club and Driving Range together offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor recreational pursuits.
Williston operates a primary school for kindergarten through fourth grades and Williston Central School for fifth through eighth grades. High school students attend Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg.
