St George VT Real Estate

Chartered in 1763, St. George is the smallest municipality in Vermont at 2,304 acres.  The area remained a largely agricultural town for 200 years.  By 1958 there were still a half dozen working farms, but this changed during the 1960s.

Several major developments in the town are St. George Estates, Rocky Ridge Estates and "The Forest", all along Mt. Pritchard ridge. St. George has essentially become a bedroom community for the larger towns of Burlington and Williston.

The St. George School Board is part of the Chittenden South Supervisory Union,  which also consists of the towns of Williston, Shelburne, Hinesburg, and Charlotte. The St. George School District has entered into a long term agreement with the Williston School District that allows St. George children to attend Williston at no direct cost to parents; all costs of attendance are covered by the St. George School District. Students in grades 9-12 may enroll either at Champlain Valley Union High School, or another public high school and receive reimbursement at an annual rate equal to the statewide 9-12 average public school tuition cost.
