Situated on historic Route 100 in northern Washington County, Waterbury is perhaps best known as the home of the world-famous factory tour for Ben & Jerry’s . Mountain bikers should check out WATA (Waterbury Trail Alliance), which is a non-profit that helps maintain bike trails in the area. Perry Hill, Little River, and the community pump track have great terrain for beginners and experts. For hiking enthusiasts, be sure to visit the Green Mountain Club Visitor Center for tips on the numerous great hiking trails in the area, including access to Vermont’s popular Long Trail which stretches from the Vermont/Massachusetts border to Canada. Looking for something a little more low key? Stop by the Waterbury Reservoir & Little River State Park for some kayaking, swimming, or paddleboarding.

Schools

Waterbury is a member of the Harwood Unified School District , which serves six rural communities: Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield, Warren, and Waterbury. There are seven schools in the District with Brookside Primary School located in the Waterbury Village Historic District, and Crossett Brook Middle School and Harwood Union High Schools located just a few miles south on Route 100.
