Waterbury is a member of the Harwood Unified School District , which serves six rural communities: Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield, Warren, and Waterbury. There are seven schools in the District with Brookside Primary School located in the Waterbury Village Historic District, and Crossett Brook Middle School and Harwood Union High Schools located just a few miles south on Route 100.
